5 days ago a murder took place on route 37 in Toms River. Today the suspect was apprehended and Police released a statement:
“Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer and Toms River Police Chief Mitch Little have announced that a juvenile has been arrested and charged with the murder of Margarita Diaz, 44, of Manchester Township, which occurred on Wednesday, August 7, 2019, at the Deer Chase Professional Park, Route 37 West, in Toms River Township.
In addition to being charged with Ms. Diaz’s murder in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:11-3a, the juvenile was charged with possession of a weapon – specifically a knife — for an unlawful purpose in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-4d, unlawful possession of a weapon in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-5d, and endangering the welfare of a child in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a. The juvenile is being detained in the Ocean County Juvenile Detention Center.
Due to the fact that the individual charged with these offenses is a juvenile, the law prohibits the release of any additional information.
