In light of the Ateres Tziporah drama, a new school is opening.

“Due to the amazing growth which we are privileged to witness in Lakewood and the surrounding area,  there is a strong need for additional schools to service the community. In light of this, and with great siyata dishmaya, a group of dedicated askanim and baalei batim have joined forces to address this need. With much anticipation and excitement, we are pleased to announce the opening of Bais Yaakov of Ocean County, a new elementary school for girls from Primary through 8th grade. The school will be housed in a beautiful building on Prospect Street and aims to provide its students with a chinuch par excellence.

Rabbi Hershy Rosenbaum of New York has graciously agreed to accept a role of leadership and is well positioned to lead Bais Yaakov of Ocean County to success. Rabbi Rosenbaum is the former executive director of Yeshivas Chasan Sofer of Boro Park and comes with many years of experience in the field of Chinuch. In addition, he has given several mosdos invaluable direction and assistance in times of need, helping to turn them into successful institutions.

Mrs. Walter has graciously agreed to be in touch with all parents of prospective students personally. Parents are encouraged to call her and she will be more than happy to answer any questions they may have. The hanhalah of Bais Yaakov of Ocean County is looking forward to an exciting year of growth, learning and creativity; and especially, to giving each student the individual care and attention every child deserves.”

Sources tell GreaterLakwood, Mrs. Insel was approached this afternoon to be the principal, and will likely accept and join this school. Over the next few days, she will ‘rally the troops’ and get teachers together.

The school will have an ‘open-door policy’ and as long parents meet a basic criteria, they will be accepted.

Askanim tell GL, the reason the name of the school is ‘Ocean county’ and not ‘Lakewood’ is, they want it known that people in Jackson, Freehold, Manalapan, anywhere, is invited.

The school will be located on Prospect road.

Additional?! Addition is when you add. This is not addition. This is a replacement for the other school that closed. Most of the girls will be the same and pretty much have the same staff from top to bottom as well.
    Just a different director.
Couldn’t they just put a new director in the old place. Why all the unnecessary headache?

Only thing I can think of is that they wanted to weed out some families from the school, so everyone needs to reapply and they won’t accept the ones they don’t want. However, for the same price you can just ask those you are unhappy with to shape up or ship out. I don’t get it. Waste of time and money for everyone.

Every school has an ‘open-door policy’ if you meet a basic criteria. It’s just that everyone’s basic criteria is different.
