Former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz is considering an independent run for the U.S. Presidency in 2020.

Schultz’s addition would offer an element of unpredictability to the next White House race which promises to include a wide array of Democratic candidates seeking to deny Donald Trump a second term in office.

Many strategists believe that a serious three-way bid for the presidency in November would divide Democratic party lines enough to potentially assist Trump in winning re-election.

Schultz – a Jew – whose net worth is reportedly about $3.3 billion, has described himself as a “lifelong Democrat” and said he is keeping the option of running under that party’s banner open if he decides to officially declare himself as a candidate.
