General Motors in a Superbowl ad yesterday announced plans to bring back the Hummer next year. Not as the hungry gas guzzler that contributed to their lost popularity among motorist a decade ago, but rather as an up-to-date electric vehicle.
The Hummer EV as they are calling it, will take on the form of a pickup truck with an estimated starting price of $70,000 a truck. Although not releasing all the info just yet, GM says that they will fully debut the new vehicle on May 20th later this year.
Apparently pickups are the new go-to in electric driving as this comes on the heels of Tesla’s recently debuted “Cybertruck” and other automakers such electric car start-ups Rivian and Bollinger as well as Ford have announced their plans for electric pickups as well.
