Fox reports, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has signed legislation eliminating a religious exemption to vaccine mandates for schoolchildren in the face of the nation’s worst measles outbreak in decades.

The New York State senate passed the bill after it narrowly passed the assembly.

The law now muddies the waters of what is religious freedom and what is not.

Noted Askan Chaskel Bennet tweeted “Let’s be crystal clear: The blatant abuse of the religious exemption & the dangerous actions of antivaxxers opened the long locked door protecting sancrocanct religious freedoms in NY. This was preventable if not for the irresponsible & irrational. A sad day for religious liberty”.
