Russia Claims U.S. Asking For Advice Ahead Of North Korea Talks

Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov said Monday that the U.S. asked for Russia’s advice ahead of this week’s summit between President Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

Lavrov said, according to Russia state media, the U.S. “is even asking our advice, our views on this or that scenario” ahead of the summit.

Lavrov was reportedly quoted as saying that Moscow believes the U.S. should offer “security guarantees” to Pyongyang in exchange for a deal to abandon its nuclear arsenal.

President Trump and Kim are expected to meet in Vietnam on Wednesday and Thursday.
