SCAM ALERT: Toms River Police Give you a heads-up

Please be aware, the Toms River Police Department DOES NOT solicit money by phone.

Below is an example of the most recent scam.
An unknown suspect identifying himself as a Toms River Police Officer is calling people and telling them they missed jury duty, and that there is a warrant for their arrest. He is asking them to respond to the entrance of the Ocean County Court House on Hooper Avenue with a specified amount of cash and stating if they do not they will be arrested.

The suspect set up a voice mailbox identifying himself as a said officer.
We are asking you to please share this post, we do not want anyone to fall, victim, as scammers are often very convincing.
