SILENT KILLER: Senator Menendez joins efforts to fight Carbon monoxide poisoning


Today, U.S. Senator Bob Menendez will join leaders from University Hospital, the N.J. Poison Control Center at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School (NJPIES), and housing advocates to discuss new, bipartisan legislation he is leading to protect residents from carbon monoxide poisoning. 

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), CO poisoning is a leading cause of unintentional poisoning deaths in the United States. On average, 450 people die and over 50,000 are treated in emergency rooms nationally each year CO poisoning.
